Off and running with a snowy morning!

Well Snowy Morning may have only finished third in the National the previous day but he was first out on Sunday Morning in London and well, we were slightly worried that these wintery conditions would cause numbers to be thin on the ground for our first presentation to prospective participants for the Everest Test 09 but seemingly the thought of Kirt, Wes and Charlie attempting a presentation about a world record on Mt Everest proved enough of a draw and over 30 people attended, except the man with our projector who claimed to be snowed in in Essex, so we went freestyle.

Kirt gets the show on the road The route to and up Everest

Kirt took people through the region and logistics, having been to Gorak Shep twice already and Charlie explaining the charities, whilst Wes, who we think still thought he was on a beach in Hawaii from the previous week, talked about sponsorship and further logistics including showing the route to and up Everest on Google Maps.

After the presentation people were able to look through photos and video footage of the region, and field questions to the three organisers. 17 applications were given in on the day with many more promised by email so our spirits and confidence were high that we were truly up and running…
