Trektators Innings Sets The Standard
Last night almost 200 people packed The Colllection in Kensington for the official launch of The Everest Test 09, and while we are yet to have exact figures, more than £3000 was raised for charity on the night.
The Trektators organised a terriffic event and deserve enormous credit for all the work they put in and for managing to pull it off, as Wes said earlier: “The bar has been set!”
Susie Clark was outstanding, Basil the Bongo player was seriously cool, and Neil Laughton turned up to lend his support as well, which was also a huge boost and all contributed to a great night out and a chance for players and supporters to once again spend some valuable time together.
People have woken up this morning with sore heads and realised that today represents the halfway mark from our first meeting at The Duck in Clapham to the day we depart, which is now exactly six months away. We have come a seriously long way, and still have some distance to go, but last night proved we are moving in the right direction and have the people on board to take this event forward in the way we all want it to.
While this whole event is a team project, it would be wrong not to single out a few people. Lucy Brookes, Vicks Nicholson, Charlie Campbell and Laura Hewitt have pulled out all the stops on this one so on behalf of us all I would like to say a huge thank you for all your time and effort.
Thanks also to the guys who live outside of London and still made the effort to turn up and bring people, a great effort.
So, what next? Watch this space as there is always news emerging on this project to keep us busy, and don’t forget to follow everybodies progress on their own individual blogs, which are below.
